Buckingham Palace The official residence of the monarch. Free to watch the Changing of the Guard.

British Museum    You will need several visits if you want to see it all- or you can opt for a tour of the highlights. Free

Changing the Guard Ceremony   Guard changing takes place at Buckingham Palace and at Horseguards, Whitehall. Free

Covent Garden  Free street theatre, stalls and restaurants all combine to make this area a popular venue for tourists and Londoners. Free to stroll around and soak up the atmosphere.

Greenwich  Historic buildings, an extensive royal park - Greenwich has it all

Leicester Square  Londons entertainment centre - here you will find cinemas, film premieres, nightclubs and nearby Chinatown.

Museum of London   Learn about every aspect of London's history  in this highly entertaining museum. Free

National Gallery    Quite simply, this is England's most important art gallery. Free

National Maritime Museum   The largest museum of its kind in the world. Free

National Portrait Gallery  More than 4000 portraits of the nation's most famous people line the walls. Free

Royal London   Palaces, portraits, parks,  pomp and ceremony combine to make Royal London so unique and unmissable. Mostly free to see.

Royal Parks   The former hunting grounds of monarchs, these expanses of trees, flowers and greenery are free  to be enjoyed by all.

The Tower of London .    Every visitor to London should visit The Tower at least once. Go early in the morning in summer to avoid the crowds. Admission charges apply but if you apply in advance; you can watch the nightly Ceremony of the Keys for free.

Westminster Abbey    The Abbey has been the venue for every Coronation since 1066 and for many other royal occasions and events. A burial place of kings, statesmen, poets, scientists,musicians.aristocrats, admirals and politicians, it contains around 600 monuments, statues and wall tablets. Admission charges apply.
