48 Doughty Street, WC1
London's Charles Dickens Museum is in Doughty Street in the district of Bloomsbury, London and is a tribute to the novelist. The museum opened in 1925 and occupies a typical Georgian terraced house which was Charles Dickens' home from 1837 to 1839.
It was where he finished "The Pickwick Papers" and worked on "Oliver Twist", "Barnaby Rudge" and "Nicholas Nickleby".
The house has displays of his manuscripts, letters and first editions.
Dickens moved on to bigger homes as his wealth increased and his family grew.
