The Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton took place on, April 29th, 2011, at Westminster Abbey.
the bride's wedding gown was created by Alexander McQueen designer, Sarah Burton - the train of the dress measured 8ft 8ins (2m 70cm and Kate's ''something borrowed'' was the 1936 Cartier tiara, loaned to her by the Queen.
Kate Middleton arrived at Westminster Abbey in a Rolls Royce Phantom VI, which had been presented to the Queen for her silver jubilee while Prince William travelled in a 20.4ft (6.22m) long Bentley.
After the royal wedding service, the 10 bells of the 1,000 year-old Abbey were rung in a "full peal" which lasted more than three hours.
On the morning of the royal wedding, Buckingham Palace said in a statement : "The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales.
"His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus. Kate Middleton has now become H.R.H. the Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince Charles lent the newly married royal couple his vintage Aston Martin Volante sports car for the short journey from Buckingham Palace to Clarence House after the Private afternoon reception hosted by the Queen.
Prince William drove his new bride in the open-topped, blue convertible which had been decorated with bunting, balloons and a 'Ju5t Wed' license plate. The royal bride and groom were returning to Clarence House for a rest before returning to Buckingham Palace for a private evening reception hosted by Prince Charles.
